Jett had to get a skin test of environmental allergies. Unfortunately it showed that he is allergic to trees, grass, and weeds. Because of this, we must now add on a spray (SLIT) to Jett’s morning routine.
From Southern California Food Allergy Institute website:
SLIT stands for Sublingual Immunotherapy. SLIT is used to treat environmental allergies. It is a solution uniquely compounded for each patient based on their individual allergy profile. It is administered in the form of a spray under the tongue.
Approximately 35% of our patients are asked to go on SLIT to facilitate the treatment process. This determination is made after the completion of the initial diagnostic intake and subsequent analysis.
The good news is he passed his egg white challenge (10ml: 5ml baked and 5ml scrambled). Egg white now moves to maintenance at 10ml capped.
Jett was also introduced to 125mg pistachio in the form of gummies! Because of the minuscule amount at the beginning, we were given 2 weeks worth of gummies from the office.
Dosing is as follows:
Week 1: 75mg
Week 2: 175mg
Week 3: 1/8 tsp
Week 4: 1/4 tsp
Week 5: 1/2 tsp
Week 6: 3/4 tsp
